Carol Moseley Braun: Democrats aren’t just celebrating Black history. We’re making it. – Chicago Tribune*

"Some time ago, I gave a speech at an area high school. A young woman raised her hand and asked, 'Ms. Braun, were you around in slavery times?' At first, I was surprised — but then it dawned on me that she would have no way of knowing or understanding the march of history or the relationship of one generation to another."

Sounds like a CPS student.

CPS is graduating these kids who don’t have a clue about how ill prepared they are for life.

Disbanding CTU would be a good beginning, but the rot is even deeper.

Pity the children!

“At first, I was surprised — but then it dawned on me that she would have no way of knowing or understanding the march of history or the relationship of one generation to another.” Ummm……or a more accurate answer is that CTU aren’t teachers and that as a result this student is flat out stupid and will be worthless parasite on the economy and society. Bust CTU now.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
