Pritzker continues to downplay speculation he’s eyeing the White House – Center Square

After last week’s State of the State address, where Gov. JB Pritzker worked in presidential politics condemning the likely Republican nominee former President Donald Trump and praising incumbent President Joe Biden, state Rep. Ryan Spain said it sounded like a stump speech. “I wish that instead of focusing on national politics and the governor’s own presidential ambitions, we can sit down and get serious about bringing economic growth to the state of Illinois."

JB’s goal since 2018 has been the White House. The chumbolones of Illinois are being dragged along to polish up his progressive credentials with every virtue signaling pablum that he can think of. For the past five years IL taxpayers are helplessly spending to pad Pritzker’s resume.

JB has zero shot of winning the presidency but he’s got consultants whispering sweet nothings in his ears. There’s going to be a game of thrones style Battle Royale to steal Biden’s candidacy, with the member of Biden’s regency or junta attempting to fend off all potential usurpers in the process. Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
