Buses again aren’t guaranteed for CPS general education students next year, officials say – Chicago Sun-Times

Elementary school kids who applied to selective and magnet programs are due to get their offers Friday but will have to decide whether they can get to those schools on their own. “We must continue to prioritize our [homeless] students and students with diverse learning needs,” CPS CEO Pedro Martinez said.

Well, of course. CPS can’t be bothered to provide transportation to selective and Magnet schools. Suddenly, again, they have no money and can’t afford it and need a tax hike and need a contract adjustment… The folks that can get their kids into these schools, should do whatever it takes to get them to and from on their own and tell this useless school district to kiss off. People sending their kids to Catholic schools do it all the time – its not impossible and not all people sending their kids to Catholic schools are millionaires.
