Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Back in the 1990’s a black cop told me if you want to find some of the worst areas in a large city look for streets named after MLK and you are sure to be close. In honor of that wise police officer, how about renaming Stony Island Avenue to Obama Avenue!
Find a road that goes nowhere and name that after Barry.
And you are still giving him too much credit!
I have some better alternative ideas. First we should leave Columbus Drive alone. Let’s think “out of the box.” Have we considered renaming Chicago Obamaville? Lake Michigan could be Lake Obama. The Illinois River could become the Obama River. He contributed so much to Chicago and Illinois and continues to do so with the building of the Obama Center which he occasionally visits. Wonder why he chose not to return to his Kenwood Ave home? Maybe he doesn’t like us any more.
I am all for renaming the Illinois Sanitary Canal after Obama!
They’ll keep trying to replace Columbus with something.
That building being put up for him is enough of a reminder he’s around……oh and there is him stepping in for biden
Obama is the most ineffective POTUS of the last 100 years*… and in many ways, he was also very *destructive*… basically, he was a grifter who simply *hated* this country…
[ *which is *really* saying something, considering the current White House occupant ]
