February data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security indicates that nonfarm jobs went up in 11 metropolitan areas and decreased in three since Feb. 2023. The data also says the unemployment rate increased in all 14 metropolitan areas.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
