COPA releases harrowing video of fatal police shooting of Dexter Reed on West Side, which mayor calls ‘deeply disturbing’ – Chicago Tribune/MSN

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said it was the driver, 26-year-old Dexter Reed, who fired first; a CPD officer was shot in the wrist. All told, four CPD officers fired 96 rounds during the exchange, COPA said. Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx did not indicate whether criminal charges seemed likely.

Glossed over is that Reed fired about 11 to 12 rounds at officers striking one of them. This explains why he was shot by police officers. Based on past officer involved shootings, police only hit their target 20% to 25% of the time. It will be interesting to see how many times Reed was struck, because those officers are responsible for where their rounds go…like down the street into a house with a person in it. No mention of his criminal record……no mention that Reed fired 11 times. Note to CPD, quit doing anything. Let the city burn.
