“Are we going to see the return of investment when it comes to that $300,” state Rep. Margaret Croke said. “If it’s not enough to make a huge impact in someone’s life that we’re seeing in these other states, is it worth it to do at this moment in time where we’re looking at a financial situation in the state that we have?”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
