Legislation to ban new natural gas hookups in Illinois introduced in Springfield – Center Square

The subject has created a deep divide among Chicagoans after the idea was floated to the city council. Ald. Gilbert Villegas said it is much more expensive to heat a home with electricity.

JB has no idea that if everything is electric, Illinois grids can’t supply enough power. Electricity is produced by fossil fuels and nuclear power plants, which he is against.

Our most reliable source of energy powers the back up generators you see on houses these days. Makes sense Illinois politicians want to ban it too. More dysfunction by the day brought to us by the voters of Illinois.

Legislation from taxpayers banning most politicians would be more appropriate. Or hooking up some pipes to their mouths to capture all the hot air they spew daily.

They want to ban natural gas and replace it with electricity, because electricity comes from fairy dust. That’s the only reason anyone would sponsor such an inane idea.

Our 100 year old natural gas pipeline structure is a blessing most of world doesn’t enjoy. Heck, most of the country doesn’t enjoy it either. We only have it because of gas street lighting and then it expanded into homes. Natural gas is abundant, clean and cheap. The people who want to ban natural gas are antihuman zealots who belong behind bars, where they can rot away in a cell and never again harm society with their absurd ideas.

Typically stupid legislation.

These folks are so far removed from the life the rest of us live, that to them this actually makes sense.

Gotta vote these clowns out as quickly as possible.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
