The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 confirmed that Patrick Shelton's current contract allots him the 21 school weeks, as well as 25 vacation days and four personal days. Shelton was first hired by the district in 2021, signing a three-year contract at the time.
LOL, my district hired a superintendent somewhat recently, and the district bragged there were hundreds of resumes and scores of interviews, before decided that a local nepotistic hire with a degrees from National Lewis was most certainly the best candidate for the job. OF COURSE a mid-six figure job with amazing pension perks is going to attract hundreds of marginally qualified people with teacher factory degrees to apply. But contrast that with the so called ‘shortage’ of teachers, where there are dozens of various openings but hardly any new teacher applications. Those that couldn’t hack engineering became teachers or enrolled in psych programs. I guess I could have really made out if had changed my major way back.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
