Loop Alliance President Michael Edwards is boldly shouting from the rooftops after a new “State of the Loop” quarterly report outlines how pedestrian activity on State Street during workweek hours is now back at pre-pandemic levels while weekend foot traffic is far outpacing 2019 numbers.
If the Loop comeback is already in full swing, the thugs are already salivating!

“It’s always an important issue that got a little out of hand after the pandemic and with the murder death of George Floyd from a drug overdose while resisting arrest”
Everytime I read MURDER I cringe. He died of an overdose, he wasn’t murdered.

LOL, this is gaslighting at its finest. I see the train traffic, I live near a stop. It’s 1/4 to 1/2 was it was when I took the train four years ago. Store fronts are closed everywhere and office buildings are going into foreclosure because of high vacancies….how in the world can “workweek foot traffic [hit] 91% of pre-pandemic levels while zooming to 107% of 2019 weekend numbers.” It this hoodlums and youths wander throughout the loop? are the quadruple counting the same vagrant as he pan handles for food? I remember going downtown as a grade school kid in the ’60s. People everywhere. Getting crushed by the crowds waiting to cross at State and Madison. Busy stores up and down State. Now I get to the Loop a couple times a year on my way to trade shows and I assure you the foot traffic and street level activity comes nowhere near to what it was. The way it’s going I’ll soon be able to find street parking in the middle of the day.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Perhaps the added in the numbers during a wilding, “ funnin”, non- demonized event.
