I live on Sheridan Road in Winnetka and work in my yard often. Based on my observations, the Pace busses must run about 98% empty, either way, going north or south. The most frequent number of riders I see is zero – never seen more than 5 riders. The solution appears to be to add more buses and increase the frequency.

Pace ridership is so low, they basically run for the benefit of the operating crews.

Amazing. A voice of reason regarding the CTA. Naturally, this voice comes, not from the ranks of the unhinged socialist Trib writers and editors, but from a free-market advocacy group member. The RTA’s operating arms needed to right size during the pandemic insanity. They didn’t, and the bill is due. The answer from the imbecilic political class is always to tax more, rather than grow more.
