Nope. You can’t bust this union as CPS teachers have a constitutional right to join this union and collectively bargain. Don’t hate on America and its constitution.

Don’t hate on America and its constitution? Could there be anything more arrogant than assuming public unions are the equivalent of America and the constitution? Well, maybe the slave owners who used the same type of argument.

The constitution represents the will of the people. Those voters want the people of Illinois to have the right to join a union and collectively bargain. You don’t get to pick and choose just the parts of the constitution that you like. If you don’t like it then work on changing it. In the meantime, it’s the law of the land. If you don’t like that then you are hating on America and its constitution. The truth hurts PP.

So not liking public unions is hating on America and the constitution. Are you sure it’s not actual treason?

“Could there be anything more arrogant”

Yes, your hatred for respecting the outcome of elections. True arrogance is ignoring the will of the people and somehow pretending that you’re holding the moral high ground. Ignorant and arrogant all at the same time.

The will of the people is the moral high ground? Just get enough people to agree, and that makes you right?

We’ve been through this before PPF. Your “what’s legal is right” attitude has been disproven throughout history, from the Reign of Terror through the Final Solution. Both were entirely legal by existing law. Yes, truth hurts.

Public unions are not sacred, even if you managed to get them protected by the constitution. Find a better talking point to justify what public unions are doing. “They are legal” is a pathetic endorsement.

IMO the way the maps are drawn by whichever party is in power determines the outcome of any specific election especially local. If the maps drawn were geographical and not political maybe there would be more competition in running for office. Some of the maps are beyond belief. One starts somewhere downtown and runs mostly a few block of either side of Roosevelt all the way to I 294. They made sure that most of the voters are the same party. Maybe debtsor has the maps of Chicago. They are like drawn after a few weeks of heavy drinking or… Read more »

There is no special listing of Public Sector Unions in the United State’s Constitution. Soon Public Sector Unions will be illegal. Check out this book: “Not Accountable. Rethinking the Constitutionality of Public Sector Unions” by Phillip K Howard. Bye Bye CTU, AFSCME, SEIU, IFT, and the rest of the parasitic scum sucking vermin. And that special Public Union status poisoning and bribed into the Illinois Constitution will be eliminated in one stroke.

Is CTU/Brandon creating new taxpayer funded “managing deputy of external relations” position to work with/ coordinate with unions and progressive groups ONLY legal?? What about other Chicago constituent groups who pay taxes or otherwise?

If there’s one thing the Mayor doesn’t need, it’s to be closer aligned to progressives.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
