A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Someone is buying these converters. They should be held accountable when purchasing these converters. Junk yards should require identification as to which car it belongs along with photo ID’s of the seller. If the seller has an auto shop show some ID’s.
Absolutely correct. It’s time to end this charade. Too bad Jabba and Brando don’t support it. They don’t want to take this illegal cottage industry away from the thugs and gangbangers, so they look the other way and do nothing. It’s another form of reparations for the historically under-invested communities!
Fred, in Detroit they do require documentation to sell catalytic converters and there’s less of an incentive to this crime.
Increase accountability in Illinois they load up the converters and ship them out of state.
