Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. That study is ridiculous, the political hacks want to steal more public money when they cannot get the job done with regular finances which include the extra federal money. Guess what the extra feeding trough is going empty. The CTA is getting the vapors the overpaid union hacks are panicking. Metra and Pace are ok but God forbid the CTA gets less money . And before you say, “it was the church, not scientists” remember, the church was very powerful and controlled the places of learning, and scientists back then were all part of church, which is why they dared not cross the church.
