"The political stakes are high ... That’s particularly true for Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who was pivotal in bringing the convention to Chicago and will use the event to elevate his national profile as a key Biden surrogate and potential future White House contender, as well as Mayor Brandon Johnson, who has perhaps a greater affinity with those planning to protest than with the police under his command who are charged with keeping order."
One of the upshots of the DNC riots of 1968 was the Walker Report, in which Dan Walker claimed there was a “police riot.” Of course, he had political aspirations and needed to make a splash, which he did, and parlayed his fame into the governorship a few years later by being the maverick taking on the Daley machine. Right. It wont be 1968. Instead the looters and vandals will be in charge with BJ cheering them on. “Mayor Lori Lightfoot made the final call to raise downtown bridges, use pepper spray, enact a citywide curfew, and call in the National Guard during the 2020 protests.” None of that will happen in August because the deeply racist BJ believes in “fiery mostly peaceful protest” and sees looting as reparations. All property owners need to have their 2nd Amendment protections ready because CPD wont be available or using theirs.
Even tho it was crazy back then……..the mayor and police made you feel safe unlike now……..only BJ can be safe………h$ll with the people he’s the only one that counts……NOT
