Illinois Republicans grapple with mail voting amid mixed signals from Trump — ‘We have to adapt’ – WBEZ

A greater share of Chicago area Republicans cast their ballots by mail in March compared to the 2022 primary, but they were still vastly outpaced by Democrats in using a voting system that has become increasingly popular.

The Republican Party in Illinois has asked us to encourage everyone to “Bank the Vote”. What this means is you vote early. Not by mail but when early voting begins, go vote and have your vote counted. What this does is shows upon their records that you voted so they will not continue to “chase you” to go vote. This will save our party in Illinois millions of dollars. So, let’s work on this together and our votes will count and the party can get more people out to vote. If you look at the massive numbers of humans who… Read more »

Wow – how stupid. Watch something else other than MSNBC and look at what is actually happening.

But hey…Yep, cheat, steal and grift your way through life. Just like Biden. Not sure how in the world you could vote for a person and administration who have so severely damaged our Country. You may not like Trump, you may not like how and what he says all the time, but his policies work for the Country. This Country will not survive another 4 years of allowing 12 Million illegal immigrants into this Country.

Educate yourself please.

Just so you know, you’re posting stupid, troll comments to make yourself feel better. It does not change any of our opinions, and none of us really care. You’re basically shooting electrons into the void at this point….

Ideally all voting should be in person on Election Day (emphasis on “ideally”) or limited to no more than 1, maybe 2, weeks of early voting. 6 weeks is waaay too long IMO. That said, I would take advantage of early voting because waiting until Election Day takes the chance of something going wrong (like the machines being “down”, or something that prevents you from physically making it to the polls) with no chance of coming back and trying again later.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
