Teacher ratings are meaningless, and have been forever. A few reasons why: Every teacher in the building thinks he/she is awesome at teaching. Telling them otherwise would result in the principal getting a visit from a Union rep, to discuss the grievance said teacher is about to file. Something the principal would rather not deal with. Many principals (not all) are either former PE teachers or average former classroom teachers who liked the idea of a six-figure salary and the power trip. What is the amount due for OPEB? Last time I checked it was funded at 0%-it was pay as you go.
Great question FJB. Other Post-employment Benefits (OPEB) is a term that characterizes retirement benefits, other than pensions that are offered to employees of state agencies. All I could find was published in 2017 ( I dot think the state wants the public to know) It was it was $64Billion for Illinois.
