After Trump assassination attempt, Dems pause counter-messaging at RNC, including Pritzker appearance – Chicago Sun-Times

Democrats had planned daily press conferences to highlight “the grave danger that Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans pose to our democracy, our rights and our livelihoods.” But with images of the shooting still fresh in the voters’ minds, they’re opting to let President Biden lead their response.

To paraphrase Douglas Murray, “If Donald Trump really is the grave existential threat to democracy you claim he is, then the best you can do to go against him is Joe Biden and Kamala Harris? Really?” Great question, for which there are sooo many answers.

Advocacy, even with true statements, does not tell the whole truth. And often a partial truth is intended to mislead. If you want enforceable whole truth, get a smart lawyer and put the advocate under oath. “Free speech” was often used in encouraging patriots to tar-&-feather British loyalists.

“Take the firearms first, and then you can go to court. We have to act, we can’t wait and play games. Take the guns first, go through due process second.” – Donald Trump

During the meeting, President Donald Trump expressed openness to various gun control proposals, including raising the age limit for purchasing certain firearms and implementing stronger background checks. Pardon my cynicism, but I feel it’s yet another Dem sucker punch. They have proven to be more than a bit duplicitous since 2008. Russian dossiers, damaging lap top information being ignored before going awol and the big lie of Biden’s mental health status, aided and abetted by MSM tell us all that we need to know about the Democratic Party in America. Fool me once, shame on you . Fool me twice…

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
