Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

He does not use taxpayer funds, he uses CTU funds.
And the CTU derives their funds from the taxpayer. It’s not like they produce anything to sell at a profit or have stock market holdings. The members take their salary, paid by the taxpayers, and are strongarmed into giving them to the CTU.

Based upon the photographs I have seen I think Johnson is entitled to a refund.
Uses campaign funds to pay for make up and hair cuts. $36K over 2 years. I am sure those that contributed to his campaign are happy to pay the “fair wage” to his hair stylist. What a joke.
I would like to find out if this make up artist/hair stylist is a union member.
Not even licensed to practice and has been warned not to do so. But, considering her clientele, nothing will be done about it. Any chance there’s also some babysitting going on under the same roof?
