Rich Miller: Gov. Pritzker stands firm: State doesn’t owe Chicago schools $1.1 billion – Chicago Sun-Times

Mayor Brandon Johnson and Gov. J.B. Pritzker, both wearing suits and ties, put an arm around one another as they pose for a photo.“I don’t think that that’s the job of Springfield, to rescue the school districts that might have been irresponsible with the one-time money they received. Poor fiscal management on the part of a local government is not necessarily the responsibility of Springfield,” Gov. JB Pritzker said.

Can you hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the RTA boardrooms now?

I bet JB the Hutt reverses course on this rare example of a correct and responsible response.

Conehead the Mayorbarian will fleece the rest of the state yet.

Chicago needs to declare bankruptcy immediately and eliminate all these contracts and benefits.

Oh, come now guys… it will surely become the responsibility of the State Tax Payer. We will not know about it and it will be done behind the scenes and using no publicity or fanfare, but it will get done and Pritzker can claim he was tough on holding the line…while a deal to bail these CPS and City of Chicago morons out.

Is the life of the average Illinois resident better with Pritzker and Pinhead? Yeah, I’d say no.

Under the bus goes Brandon Johnson. The progressive establishment is rapidly distancing itself from him, though they are responsible for the radicalism that brought him to power. I suspect Preckwinkle will stick with him to the end, though, because she and Johnson sincerely share the same ideology, which is Marxism in all but name.

Down votes typically represent either the CrapFax gang of mouth breathers or one person with multiple ISP addresses. Regardless, it isn’t a bad thing to have people read your comment, I just wish they would provide a thoughtful response.

Don’t understand why these people don’t get upset when JP spews utter filth and lies and hate speech about TRUMP?? Don’t like it when the BLUE gets called out? For someone that wants to be a uniter his talking points are
very divisive and horrible and quite frankly untrue. How can you possibly be against someone that loves America and wants to give people an even break?!!

This is another example of the ineptitude of the people running CPS, along with their co-conspirators running CTU. Like so many government agencies given incomprehensible sums of money by the total sham Biden Administration, CPS blew all the cash like kids in a candy store. These idiots couldn’t run a lemonade stand. They must all be products of the organization they now run, where nobody can read or do math, yet they all get promoted to the next grade. It’s really rich that Pritzker, who did the same thing with the Biden bucks the state received, has the gall to… Read more »

All smoke and mirrors for the benefit of the lapdog media. Behind closed doors, they will kiss, make up and Mayor Playa will get what he wants with little fanfare at the expense of the rest of IL.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
