She really can’t make up her 1 BRAIN CELL……she has to change her answers so often to keep up with the lies she tells and then says she never said it!! EVEN THO IT’S RECORDED

Trump didn’t question whether or not she was black. It’s a known fact that she isn’t black. She herself has said that she’s Indian. There’s no African American blood in her. Trump was pointing that out to a 100% black audience to make sure they understood that voting for Harris is not voting for someone “like them”.

She went to a HBCU, and was in a black sorority.

This is certainly evidence in her favor that she is Black but is lost in a sea of Indian-American identity. Black with a capital B in Trump’s context is ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) vs. having black colored skin (African immigrants) or bring African-American (Elon Musk). Black is a specific socio-racial identity in the intersectional hierarchy. Kamala ain’t Black. I don’t believe in the one-drop rule so the mere fact that Kamala has a Jamaican father doesn’t make her Black.

Pointing out she keeps changing races as needed should be identified, more eloquently perhaps.

No, it doesn’t. Unless you want to offend half the nation.

Brian, the half of the nation that is offended calls Republicans, as JB Pritzker just said yesterday on CNN, ““This guy (Trump) is a homophobe, a xenophobe, he’s a racist and misogynist. But here was just a perfect example of it for the American public to see.”

So, our side shouldn’t really care if they’re offended or not. Not when they say the absolutely worst things about us.

Don’t fight back with spitballs when they’re using ICBMs.

This isn’t about who is calling Republicans names. This is about offending independent minded voters by attacking the other candidate’s racial identity. For no good reason.

How not to win an election: Question/ attack someone’s racial identity. The ineptitude, ignorance and lack of morals along with the insanity of Harris socialist ideology would’ve provided ample evidence as to why she is unsuitable for presidency. You blew it, Donald.

Fact – Harris played the Indian American race card in her various elections in California. She introduced race, so it is a very legitimate talking point.

Legitimate perhaps, helpful, not really. Trump needs to attack Harris on her leftist progressive chops, not on her race or old boyfriends. Only the former will help towards victory and isn’t that what elections are ultimately about?

Progressives care more about race than policy which is why all of their policies are based on race. Attacking her for not being black is genius really, and if you listened to the crowd at the forum, it appeared like there was solid support for that argument. He’s merely playing the Democrat’s own game and throwing it back at them, quite a bit like how Captain Kirk uses logical paradoxes to cause robots to explode when they can’t wrap their heads around the problems he presents. He merely asks the black crowd, do you consider her one of your own,… Read more »

It’s not just about the Black vote. If Trump continues to harp on Kamala’s race or gender rather than her leftist record, he’ll lose many middle of the road women and some men regardless of color. It’s fun to tease Elizabeth Warren about the misappropriation of her miniscule Indian ancestry for sure, but last I looked she was still reelected a US Senator and Obama’s birth state questions didn’t keep him from winning two terms as President.

Spot on. Of all the tools at his disposal, Donald chose the one that can alienate voters. Her many other deficiencies would’ve been significant enough to prove she’s not suitable for public office.

Reports I’ve seen are consistent with your statements, but it’d be nice if we could see and hear the whole event.

Sure, why not. Doesn’t matter. Unless you are on the fence, it doesn’t matter.

I disagree, of all the things he’s said, this is certainly not alienating. Anyone who would be alienated has already made up their mind about him long ago.

I guess we can agreed to disagree, but independents who are truly independent, and don’t already have a political leaning, are 7% of American (according to Pew), and only 1 in 5 of them are still undecided in this election (according to NPR on July 24, 2024). That’s 1.4% of the electorate overall. Everyone else voting has already made up their minds. The goal is turnout, turnout, turnout. The Democrat party doesn’t win on convincing voters. The Democrat Party wins because of ballots. There are too few undecided voters right now to make a difference. Trump is trying to depress… Read more »

No, it’s doubling down on the dumb, and will only resonate with his followers and those even farther to the right than that.

You think it’s dumb because you’re not a race obsessed Democrat. And that’s great! But race obsessed Democrats think this way. It’s difficult for a non-Democrat to get into the mind of a Democrat, and I try my hardest, but I can often see a glipse of how they think. They think very, very differently than us. Democrats just had White Women for Harris Zoom calls that broke Zoom! They were struggle sessions in which we were introduced to Mrs. Frazzled (omg look her up!). So when Trump is throwing blackness back into their face, most will choose to ignore… Read more »

…and Trump has had “Black’s for Trump” signs behind him at rallies. It’s a mistake to claim race only matters to Democrats.

It’s a mistake to play with that live wire at all. Trump’s followers are gonna follow him, no matter what.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
