The Damen Green Line project was first announced in 2017, with a projected completion date sometime in 2020 at a cost of $50 million. But in fact, Mayor Brandon Johnson cut the ribbon at the new station on Monday, and taxpayers paid more than $80 million for the station, with funding from the Kinzie Corridor Tax Increment Financing District.
What else is new? Chicago or IL financial wizards grossly underestimate the cost of a project. This is yet another form of taxpayer abuse.

The project most likely would have cost $20 million if handled in the private sector, but the government has to factor in the corruption element. The original corruption amount was obviously not enough. So they doubled it. $20 million for the project. $60 million stolen. Sounds about right for a City of Chicago project. And the slaves will continue to vote democrat.
