Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I wonder how well the Chicago police will perform during the convention. It seems they’ve been “going fetal” for years, knowing that the Mayor, State’s Attorney and police superintendent don’t support the cops.
Who cares what they think. Write all the “letters” you want. Time for normalcy, people to get a thicker skin and not be overwhelmingly “offended” at the least little thing. The other point is, the Police are likely correct in their concern. I will be shocked if this entire circus for the DNC doesn’t evolve into riots, shootings, lootings and things on fire down town. The bridges will be up sometime during the DNC week.
There is big money to be had as a result of hurt feelings and the need to scurry off to a peace circle. The Marxists know this and are willing and exploit a settlement without trial city to its fullest.
Intimidating comments – i guess their, I say laughingly, parents must have skipped the sticks and stones my break my bones lesson.
