End of cash bail in Illinois has not resulted in more crime, but has affected court system – CBS2 (Chicago)

Of the nearly 9,000 detention-eligible cases in Illinois at which the team looked, 36 percent of defendants were detained. In 43 percent of those cases, prosecutors never asked for detention. The failure to appear rates have largely gone unchanged.

An article in CWBCHICAGO.COM…..Nearly 20% of all people arrested for felonies are on pre trial release. Yep the get out of jail policy is working just like it’s supposed to.

And yet dozens of those on pretrial release have committed more than a few murders and injured even more people since this nonsense began with Tim Evans spearheading it from the start, pre Safe-T act. Not enough to move the needle apparently, but more than enough for the dead and wounded.
