Illinois Secretary of State announces DMV kiosks to launch inside retail stores – NBC5 (Chicago)

Among the services offered by the kiosks include vehicle registration renewals and plate stickers, which can be printed for customers on-site. Customers who are seeking a driver's license or state ID card renewal will be issued a temporary document from the kiosk to use while a new card is mailed to them.

Kiosk’s are not free. Were they able to reduce the number of employees at the Secretary of State offices?

I just spent 2 hours at a dmv , with an appointment, and all the required identification and was told my drivers license could not be used as a form of id. The supervisor came over and then told the cashier that drivers licenses are now valid? Who’s gonna be there to enforce that the id says that they are valid – easy way to register illegals to vote. Hand them out like a gumball machine but I had 6 forms of id and was like pulling teeth completely backwards state !

Let’s just leave stacks of ID cards and Drivers Licenses at the bus stop, on the park bench, etc. so that whoever wants one can fill it out with the name of their choosing and then automatically become a voter, licensed driver, LEO whatever. This is the third world future of America.
