Can certainly understand why Chicago police are fed up.

(If you have an opportunity, go as a ride-along in a police car. It is a great eye-opening experience. Find out if the police dept. in your town has a newsletter and subscribe to it. Attend outreach events if you can.)
All part of the plan to replace old school officers with SJW types that will adopt Johnson’s holistic approach to crime and criminals. Heard an exchange on the police band radio the other day when a young sounding, rather inarticulate and mouthy dispatcher tried to tell a 30 year veteran how to handle a crime scene. Who needs it?

Do you really need police in that liberal utopia you call home? After all you have violence interventionists. Would it be more cost effective to put a fence around Chicago and sell tickets as a zoo?
My son is fourth generation police. Pushed him to Indiana where he can still be the police with a lot of support. Impossible to make a difference here in Illinois anymore. We all made a difference in my 30+ year career and the politicians and leftists threw it all away in 5 years. Shameful!

I went to several outdoor suburban events this summer and it’s quite obvious they suburbs are poaching city officers. You can tell because suburbs suddenly have an influx of fit, young, often minority cops who stand around the suburban events with huge smiles on their faces, listening to the music, chatting with residents who come over to say “thank you”. Other than the occasional drunk or medical emergency, there’s little to no drama at (most) suburban summer events. The residents are happy to have them around. There are a lot more block parties in Rockford sponsored by the police now. They have hot dogs and treats for the kids. It is a nice event where people can meet the local police. Does it help? I’m not sure since there is still a lot of crime in certain areas but worth a try.
Works in areas that want the police there.
Easy to understand why. National and especially local defund the police narrative, with Kim Foxx, Tim Evans, Preckwinkle undermining their ability and motivation to do the job. Many dangerous neighborhoods to work in. Charlatan mayor and a city council that not only don’t have your backs they stab them. COPA is a bad corrosive joke. Take a job in a safer town for better pay where the social justice warriors aren’t spewing their anti police venom.
