A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
South Shore will be majority hispanic within a decade. The neighborhood is becoming increasingly surrounded by hispanics, and being so close to the lake, the park, highways, and cultural institutions, it will become a neighborhood for relatively wealthier hispanics. It’s already happening. After the current residents leave, the murder rate will from drop precipitiously, as it is. There were 39! murders in south shore in 2022, 28 in 2023 and only 23 so far this year.
