Illinois’ Public Universities Collectively Achieve Highest Enrollment in Eight Years – RiverBender (Alton)

There are an additional 2,993 students across all state universities this fall, which represents an overall enrollment increase of 1.6 percent and a total overall enrollment of 185,590 students – the highest overall enrollment in eight years.

Who would’ve thunk that lowering (or even removing) admission standards and then giving away the product for free would increase enrollment! UIUC, SIU, EIU and the rest of them all have financial aid packages that eliminate tuition and fees for qualified students, mostly for students from households with below median household incomes.
