Illinois officials take first step toward construction of 2 new prisons – ABC News

Skeptical lawmakers have questioned the proposed 1,500-bed capacity of each new prison. Prison populations statewide have declined dramatically in recent years. Stateville has a listed operational capacity of just over 3,000 inmates and in June had a population of 568. Logan's capacity is listed at about 1,400 and in June had just over 1,000.

Well of course the prison population is down thanks to Pritzker, Evans, Littlle Kimmy and many others, the great catch and release. Remember what goes around comes around

Yesterday, the 40th person on pre trial release from last year was arrested for assaulting someone while awaiting trial. These 40 experiments in “ re-imagining the judicial system “ have shot, tried to shoot or murder 56 people and killed 23. No room in the big house for them, apparently.
