The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
So it sounds like the state of Illinois wants to pass a preemption law forbidding students from being fined for violating local ordinances. Wouldn’t that create a double standard for those fined thru local ordinances outside schools?
