Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
Look what’s going on in the NYC police department right now, Fani Willis, Mayor Adams, etc. etc. Ghetto Governance has become a disaster for this country.
Democrat rule is the disaster; and urban black progressive governance is merely one of the many failed Democrat governance styles, just as effete progressive whitey Jacob Frey continued to destroy Minneapolis.
The “urban black progressive governance” (CTU/Brandon & crew) is majority white upperincome if you peak under the hood. All the BLM politics is just part of the $grift$.
Brandon every bit as competent to run CHI as Joe is to run the entire country.
Johnson surely knows he has 4 years max to permanently transfer as much wealth from taxpayers to the CTU as he can. Maybe that was alway the plan. That he is having any success whatsoever is due to an insufficient number of alderman with the guts willing to oppose him and, remarkably, the number who actually support him. Pritzker should be yelling from the treetops – ok, from the stronger lower limbs – about the disasters of Johnson. This is what the Democratic Party has foisted on the city.
He’s looting the city’s coffers. That’s his job. They don’t have any civic duty, or civic pride, or any good feelings towards Chicago, which to them, is nothing more than a oppressive white supremacist system designed to incarcerate and impoverish black and brown people. They intend to loot the city until it collapses and they hope that out of the ashes a progressive utopia will be reborn. Of course, when they city’s finances and population collapses, and there is little left but ruins, they’ll say “look at this nice thing we wrecked”. These people have no grand plan, they can’t… Read more »
That’s really true. Alderman Scott Waugespack said as much recently. Scott is a Progressive whom I respect for honesty and integrity. He said yesterday the mayor/CTU strategy is to take out as much cash as possible now on the expectation that somebody else will later figure out a bailout.
100% accurate and spot on. CTU are selfish thieving parasitic verminous excrement scum.
How cute. Crains still thinks that BJ was elected for all of Chicago. Here’s news Crains: BJ doesn’t care about Chicago. BJ only cares about the parasitic venereal thieves of CTU. BJ is a purchased sock puppet of the evil terrorist group Chicago Teachers Union and his goal is to shovel massive piles of money into the verminous Teachers Union’s bottomless yawning maw until Chicago, Illinois and Cook County coffers are empty and are financially insolvent and then maybe the the federal government pours in some money. Period. That’s BJ and the Teachers Scum’s goal. CTU is the Poster Child… Read more »
The CTU will be around longer than you. We will continue to demand fair pay and benefits. Our union brothers just help push the social security fairness act across the finish line. My social security will be increasing $1300 per month. Sure it’s only 10% of my monthly pension but it just shows what we can accomplish when we organize and work together. You keep licking the boots of your corporate overlords and we will just keep winning. So much winning. I’ll never tire of all this winning.
Fair pay and benefits would be one thing, insane demands well outside the scope of the CPS mission are another altogether. It would be nice to see CTU collaborating with CPS on closing schools like Douglas HS with 35 students and reallocating funds much more humanely and productively rather than the militant jobs protection disguised care for “the kids”. CTU needs rational leadership not racketeers. CTU may be winning but the students and taxpayers sure aren’t.
JShark with all you input about pensions in Illinois, you remind me of the ousted Jesse Sharky CTU labor leader, could it be.
Sorry, but the number of rank-and-file CTU members who parrot the union talking points („demand fair pay”, „when we organize and work together”, etc.) is dwindling. More and more of my colleagues are waking up, and pulling their support away, recognizing that a) CTU leadership cares nothing about them, and even less about the kids. These are admitted Marxists, with totalitarian goals. You are a pawn in their game. and b) the entire system – CPS, CTU, CTPF – is financially unsustainable. You will have no pension at some point, my friend. Incidentally, I have never heard a fellow CTU… Read more »
This is the only way things will ever change (short of a complete implosion)- when the teachers decide they have had enough and start pushing back instead of going along.
He thinks he is being a funny troll but he’s just a moron.
