More than six years since the ouster of former Cook County assessor and Democratic Party boss Joe Berrios, federal prosecutors continue to file fresh felony charges against his underlings. Prosecutors allege that Francisco "Frankie" Perez, a former chief hearings officer, accepted gifts, including sports tickets and free meals, to lower property tax assessments for commercial properties.

More proof that Latino and black state / city government office holders can be just as corrupt as their white counterparts. True equity. What was it that the one black female government worker said when caught with her hand in the till? “ It’s our turn now!”.

Corruption is an equal opportunity crime. Some commenters here try to say that black run cities are run worse than white run cities, and that’s a slanderous falsehood. Exhibits A-Z as proof that is not true are every other Democrat city run by white people. Minneapolis is my favorite example, a mostly white run city, now with it’s highest murder rate, declining population, a police force half the size…..Or Seattle, a homeless and drug-infested dystopian slum….the list goes on and on…

Point taken. I guess Portland would be another example as well. However, the rally cry in many of these cities is ( surreptitiously) kick whitey out and the corruption will end. I’ve yet to see that happen.
