Illinois Poised to Become Even Worse – ZeroHedge

"The first step by leftists in their eternal quest to make America unlivable is always to redefine terms, hence the Newspeakian term “sex work,” with its positive connotations of labor and industry. Illinois Democrats hope to destigmatize the degrading purchase of women’s bodies for the hedonistic pleasure of men by associating such evil with other forms of work."

The Politicians in Illinois are nothing but whores.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the degenerate dems eventually tried to “legalize” pedophilia – in fact, this is one of the “tacit” goals of the “trans” lobby, which IL dems *heartily* support…

What the dems did to us and still are trying to do is absolutely unforgivable. We got to a point where we were barely indistinguishable from a communist state. It probably would still be be going on if they hadn’t gotten overzealous and crashed our economy, because Carville *was* correct when he said ‘”It’s the economy stupid!”. So I wonder how much MORE harm they would have tried to do if people weren’t confronted with the price of eggs, gas, housing, and other things… this “legalizing” prostitution is truly disgusting…

Cannot believe that Pritzker wants to legalize prostitution in. Order to reap taxing it. No morals.

Thank goodness we have a strongly moral and selfless Donald Trump as our new president, right? Hallelujah!

James – I think the relevant point is that taxing prostitution will not benefit the fisc to any material degree, and if done correctly would require a health apparatus – not cheap in Illinois. And who would trust an Illinois bureaucracy with monitoring health? If you legalize and tax activity the negative externalities will occur and will cost us. No one needs to hear a screed against Trump again and again. It adds nothing of substance. One common theme with taxing sins is that the externalities matter and are often ignored. It is a big problem with gambling and now… Read more »

Yes, by now we know maybe 90% of the negatives that history shows as almost bound to occur when allowing questionably moral activities to become publicly taxable businesses. But, common sense suggests we can plan for such things rather than pretend they on’t happen. Just build the rules, penalties, income expectations accordingly. Ultimately people are going to do what they want to do, and pretending otherwise is foolishness. It’s not my mission in life to police another person’s life as long as no laws are broken. I hope most Americans would agree. My life should profit or suffer as a… Read more »

Legalizing prostitution isn’t as much about revenue as it is about ideology. The revenue it creates is secondary to the progressive virtue signaling. Just as legal weed created some significant but ultimately small tax revenue for the state, it greatly expanded the underground market so much so that many of the legal cannabis shops struggle to survive. Progressives live in a world of fantasy and make-believe and they are really naive as to how the world really works. Legalized prostitution, in whatever form it would end up being allowed, would end up being controlled by the South American cartels, the… Read more »

Many—maybe most—of the “inevitable” problems you cite can be minimized by—guess what—planning ahead. We’ve seen or know most problems that can be expected. I’m not suggesting, for, example, that any teenager or someone even younger should enter that world legally. In fact it’s almost commonly known that most people’s brains are not fully developed until they’re mid-20’s. Personally, I’d prefer no one under age 30 to be a participant figuring that by that time most have sorted out the pros and cons of their current life circumstances and realistically considered whether such “employment” likely has more upside than downside possibilities.… Read more »

If there’s one thing we have learned from past behavior of Democrats, it’s that they are completely incapable of – guess what- planning ahead.

In case you’ve not noticed it here, the majority here are not big on looking for nor reading substance. No, we’re more likely of the lynch mob mentality when others not at all like the collective US disagree.

The leaders of the extreme leftist movement are apparently perverts. There is nothing too far out there for these lowlifes. They’re behind the drag queen movement, sex trafficking and grooming. They’ll be promoting child porn as art next. The Hollyweirdos and media are part of the effort. They have zero morals. Drive them out of business.

California has effectively legalized prostitution because they are no longer arrest streetwalkers. And now the streets are filled with 14, 15, 16 year old migrant girls being trafficked by cartel pimps, and the police can’t do anything about it. That’s the reality of legalized prostitution. It isn’t the red light district of Amsterdam, it’s the pimps up, hoes does of Dolomite.

There will be no more pimps—they will be sex worker network managers.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
