Illinois Republicans want to lower the age to get a FOID card – WAND (Decatur)

A new bill filed in Springfield could lower the age requirement for a FOID card from 21 to 18. The plan also states people could be eligible for a FOID card if they have never been convicted of a misdemeanor, other than a traffic violation or delinquent crime. State Rep. Charlie Meier says the age should be lowered so Illinois high school students can participate in trap shooting.

SHALL not be infringed, not wait 5 months for a CC permit or a jive ass FOID because it’s a state run program with no timetable on when they “issue” it
