Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I am not a wealthy individual and am pretty low on the totem pole regarding income levels. That being said Trumps tax cuts did lower my taxes by increasing the standard deductions thereby lowering income subject to taxation. On the other hand my Illinois taxation jumped up markedly so Representative Underwood your comments more or less represent fake news at its finest that WTTW chose to publicize adding to the fake news mess we have today.
