The Evanston reparations aren’t for slavery, they’re for redlining and covenants which caused some persons of colour to be unable to buy or retain real estate, just because they were not colorless. This may have disadvantaged them or their descendants. While there are certainly some corporations which may have benefited from slavery, and which still exist, the stockholders today have nothing to do with the stockholders of 1863. Corporations are not people.
