A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Illinois right now desperately needs a DOGE to address the many problems we have statewide (instead of DOGE hacking at federal agencies we actually need and that Elon doesn’t understand). Imagine if DOGE actually did something useful for Illinois, like reducing our number of government agencies. From the Tribune: “There are so many units of government in Illinois that people can’t even agree on the total because of differences over what technically qualifies as a government body.
