Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

Certainly illegal and unconstitutional. Another waste of taxpayer dollars fighting an unwinnable lawsuit paid by the taxpayers. Disgusting. Virtue signaling ain’t free.
The phrase “diversity, equity, and inclusion” and the acronym DEI should be struck from the lexicon.
Instead call it like it is: “sanctioned DISCRIMINATION.”

Not to my knowledge, but it’s an easy target for a lawsuit, IMO.
Isn’t this a violation of the vendor’s civil rights?

Could the state mandate that all contractors only hire non-white individuals? Of course not.
One of many reasons that I voted for Trump. His ‘style’ and language often annoy me and there are some issues which I disagree. But Trump has by far the best agenda for the nations’ future and the guts to proceed. Illinois for decades has attracted two types of people: Democrat voting migrants and Democrat voted college educated. The Republicans in the state are all leaving or dying of old age.
