Our neighbors show there’s still potential for Illinois to one day turn around and become an economic engine – Wirepoints on with Jeff Daly of WZUS Decatur Radio

Ted joined Jeff Daly to talk about why the strong economic growth of its neighbors means there’s still hope for Illinois, why lawmakers should demand efficiencies from Chicago’s transit agencies instead of raising taxes, why it’s good news that Texas is going to enact school choice, the attack on homeschooling by lawmakers, and more.

I sometimes wonder if the people cheerleading for Iowa and Kentucky as somehow aspirational places have ever actually been to Iowa and Kentucky.

False hope in Illinois is an exercise in futility.

Yes, there is potential to turn Illinois around, but the probability is very low. Many IL pols would need to not be greedy/corrupt/unskilled at their jobs, etc. In other words, residents hoping for a turnaround are in for a very long wait.

Imagine how cool it would be to live in another state where so much of the news you hear or read isn’t about taxpayer abuse or thugs committing crimes.

The only hope for Illinois is when public sector unions become unconstitutional and are busted nationwide. Only then will the symbiotic criminal Democrat/Public Sector Union stranglehold be eliminated.

Thanks to the sacrifice your father made. It is appreciated. I can’t speak for Old Joe but my guess is he was not referring to widows or widowers but to those who game the system by not having a father anywhere on the books as to receive more benefits form the city or state. In Illinois a woman does not have to name who the father is on a birth certificate when they give birth. A former tenant of mine long gone whose friend was a case worker and when she went to interview people needing assistance asked who and… Read more »

Sorry friend but your dad chose his country over his family. I’m sorry he died doing so but he still acted selfishly. No one with small children at home should be leaving them behind. Faith, family, freedom — there is a reason we list those in that order. It’s their order of importance.

HML, what an appalling this to say. Perhaps he was drafted but, if not, he did it for his family and all of families.
