Illinois bill would override local law to allow homeless living in all public parks – Wirepoints
If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
Expect no retraction or apology. This what they do.
The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
Well Stacy Gates won’t have to go far to see a Bears game!
The Bears should leverage this situation as best as possible. It will definitely get the city and state to help kick in some funds. Otherwise the city and county can plan on losing 12% off of all ticket sales as well as all the sales tax from items sold in the stadium.
I just don’t see any possibility of doing that in IL. The problem is about $1 billion in related infrastructure costs, and nobody has the capacity for that.
Taxpayers have more than enough money according to the taxing bodies.
