Only problem is that there are only far left people considering this- Raj, Alexi and underwood. Alexi region clean up voter roles by notifying the election board when people move. Underwood has a nursing degree, but show me where she EVER worked as a nurse. When has Raj ever done anything for US citizens.

Smart money is on the black females that decide to run, quickly becoming the biggest block of an emasculated, neutered Democratic Party. The louder and more militant, the better. Thank goodness Angela Davis is a senior citizen.

Who will now represent the interests of the Democrats party for Illinois?

Poor downstaters. Durbin, Dixon, Simon were all from downstate. Now, all the contenders are from Chicago/Cook County. Additionally, all state office holders are also Chicago/Cook County. No wonder so many counties downstate want to secede from IL. They have no clout, lack in resources, and are basically ignored.

This atrocious witch is siailing off into the sunset, too: Rep. Schakowsky reportedly plans to retire, joining outgoing Sen. Durbin https://evanstonroundtable.com/2025/04/23/schakowsky-retirement-2026/ “Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-9th District) is expected to announce her plans to retire from Congress at the end of her current term, joining fellow Illinois delegation veteran Sen. Dick Durbin in stepping aside and clearing the path for a competitive primary in spring 2026, according to reporting Wednesday from Politico… The Politico article states that two people familiar with the veteran congresswoman’s plans confirmed that she will make the retirement announcement next month. Schakowsky wrote in an X post… Read more »

It’s a stretch to say you’re retiring when you’ve never held a real job in your entire life.
His only legacy is calling American troops Nazis.

Springing a lifer from prison ( along with Obama ) that promptly went out and murdered an innocent woman in a road rage incident is another notch on his belt. Funny how nobody “ says her name.”.

Naw, “ Crash “ Duckworth isn’t going anywhere. She will follow the lead of Pelosi, Watters, RBG and Feinstein and cast votes for a while after she expires.

My money is on Pritzker jumping on this one. He’s on tape telling Blago that he wanted Obama’s spot in the Senate, his record and Illinois’ reputation (covid, DEI, boys in girls sports, economy, taxes etc) mean that he can’t win the Presidential (National) race. Additionally, he can afford to self fund a Senate race. His usefulness in Illinois is mostly over. He distributed covid cash to the right cronies and delivered tax increases, and gave pay raises for his public union cohorts. The next few years will be very rough in Illinois as the tough is dry. Even better… Read more »

Pritzker is running for president. Senate is a lateral move from governor.

Time for him to go. He started out as a good solid downstate moderate. Republican governors for twenty years could always count on his help and he always stepped up to help Illinois no matter who was governor. Over the last 15 years he just fell off the lefty cliff, and I though his low point was the repeated attacks on Supreme Court nominees. He made a fool of himself spouting rumors and slurs he knew were not verified and simple malicious gossip. Too bad. He had an opportunity to retire as a true statesman, and instead he will be… Read more »

Onetime pro-life Democrat Dick Turdbin is ending his assault on Illinois taxpayers, making room for the next generation of leftist political animals to continue the assault and the grift. The list of potential replacements for that Dick is nauseating at best, particularly the odious empty suit Raja and the forever-in-search-of-a-cogent-thought Underwood. Julia Stratton is the machine’s ‘man’, with the elder stateman Robin Kelly perhaps hoping for a spoiler role.

Uniparty Illinois will soon forget that Dick was ever there, but his replacements will continue and expand his reign of terror on taxpayers.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
