The original article in The Lancet was retracted because the original paper that showed a link had manipulated the data to show a link that never existed. They included patients as developing autism after taking the MMR vaccine when in fact no such diagnoses existed in the patients medical records. The lead author also forgot to disclose that he was working for attorneys and paid handsomely to find a link. They also only included 12 patients in their “study”.
