Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Of course “ the Bankrupter “ has to weigh in, as he has aspirations for a higher office and needs to keep his name in the mix of what will surely be a crowded political racing field. He won’t be content to sit back and do nothing while corruption thrives in the DMV as Jesse White did for 40(?) years.
Alexi should stick to pumping iron in front of mirrors and a camera. Was his office ramping up over the last year or two to educate and inform so that more people would be aware? It’s common for many to procrastinate so there’s that, and going to the DMV for any reason is often a study in bureaucratic indifference.
Poor Alexi. Sobbing incessantly and desperately searching for someone to blame for the long lines at the drivers’ license facilities he ostensibly manages. Blame the ones who waited until the last minute? Naah. Can’t score cheap political points courtesy of the useless Chicago media by blaming potential voters.
