There are reasons Obama didn’t move back to Chicago and that Pritzker wants to move to D.C.

Fundamentally, the ship is taking on water and when it goes down the descent will be fast.

Pritzker will be up for any safe job the Dems will give him should they win back the White House.

Realistically Illinois needs to cut spending or hike taxes and being it is readily apparent Illinoisans want more spending for trinkets and goodies this taxes need to be hiked. Pritzker meanwhile is preparing his Presidential run and raising taxes is not what he wants thrown to the public. Like it or not higher taxes are on the way…its just a matter of time.

Well for example the other day there was quite an article here about the dilemma that Western Illinois is going through at the moment. Despite significant enrollment issues and naturally related budget problems the University is getting a new 119 million dollar performing arts center paid for from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan. No telling what other spending plans are being cooked up statewide but I think that is a pretty good example of goodies and trinkets and, in this case, the 119 million doesn’t even include the furnishings.

100 percent agree RB. If we want all this spending then we need to increase taxes. As you’ve noted, it’s only a matter of time.

He says popular things like this…then does what he wants and no one calls him on it. So, he can say he will veto tax increase to the useless media and then do whatever he wants behind the scenes, in the dark room with only a few people involved. No one will ever know and the majority of the liberal lemmings will continue to vote for this type of behavior. There is No honor or honesty in anything he does.

He is saying he will veto the bill and then go ahead and sign it? That would be worse than just advocating for the tax increase and signing the bill. Tough to run a presidential campaign stating you wouldn’t sign a budget with a service tax addition and then signing it anyway. Tax increases by themselves don’t make candidates look weak. Flip flopping on the issue would be much worse. Your “strategy” doesn’t make any sense.

Well, his words say he will veto anything with a “broad based” tax increase…ok, but he gets to define what that is (in his opinion) and act in anyway he wants. If I had to guess, this general statement was for the cameras and because of the words he used, he will wiggle out of it and do what he wants and there by not flip-flopping (at least in his mind). We’ll see.

No need to guess just read the article. Pritzker said he would specifically veto any budget that includes tax increases on individuals, corporations or the sales tax – the three largest sources of revenue in the state budget. Pritzker also ruled out a sales tax on services to provide new funding to the state. What would be his motive to lie about this veto and then sign it anyways? He would look weak and instead look like he capitulated to the GA. There is no upside for him to do this. FWIW, I don’t think JB or any other politician… Read more »

His motive? Porkulus is a self serving delusional democrat who will say anything to get to sit in the Oval office. Isn’t that motive enough?

So how does this lie serve that motive? You haven’t explained that. If anything this lie would cause him to be labeled a flip flopper. Also, they are all self serving.

Outlets have published all the “services “ that most people use. This is a massive tax hike that will hurt everyone. Taxing gym membership is not a personal issue for him though. JB and Democrats need to stop increasing and new taxes to fund identity policies and illegals. Pritzker is a liar and I don’t think he’ll do a thing to help working people. He’s just focused on himself identity politics, left policies, and illegals. IL Democrats need to start representing taxpayers.

Looks like we will need to wait a little longer for a tax on services.

I guess the downvotes want the service taxes implemented during this session.

JB the Hutt’s henchmen and fellow thieves read the tea leaves at last? Let’s see if they notice the Dems polling in the mid 20’s.

The near-criminal mismanagement of Illinois remains.

The king of raising taxes broadly pauses his effort for more increases until after polls show his presidential prospects are zero and he is reelected governor, after which he will resume broadly taxing anything that moves or remains stationary.

Waddles, still eyeing the WH, decides to temper his Marxist, unicorn fart rhetoric just enough to make it seem reasonable. Don’t worry suckers, as we’ve seen before once the votes from gerrymandered districts come in and his ample rear is in the driver’s seat, he’ll do what he intended to all along.

Golly JB. Looks like you’ll have to tighten your belt. Har Har Har. I know that’s a paradox, if you know what that word means, but its the fact. Suck in that gutty and pull the leather to the next hole in the belt. Watch out though. You might tear out a seam in your husky trousers.
