Mayor Brandon Johnson’s chief of staff, Cristina Pacione-Zayas, said Wednesday the city received word that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement tactical units would soon be ready to deploy in Chicago. Pacione-Zayas also said that Chicago was one of five Democrat-led cities ICE would be targeting and that agents were expected to visit workplaces. Johnson said he was counting on all of Chicago to resist.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
