IL state rep. pushes for rapid changes in hemp cannabis regulations – Center Square

State Rep. La Shawn Ford has long been pushing for changes in the state’s recreational and medical cannabis laws. He hopes to give more minority-owned businesses a fairer chance in carving out a place for themselves in the industry.

The revenue projections of a State based cannabis business will not ever get to the levels predicted. The product sold by the state is 10x the typical street price. If a person using this product had a source and that source is still selling the product at a fraction of the state’s price…and the state has limited the ability of law enforcement to do anything about illegal growers and sellers or users, why in the world would you buy it at the state facility. Hell, the state even limited the Police’s ability to investigate a driver who smells like weed.… Read more »

Nothing like trying to manage the dumpster fire after starting it. Ford’s initiatives are only more useless reforms in the name of “ equity “ for folks that already have a leg up but still can’t get it together.
