Millions of dollars stolen from Illinois SNAP beneficiaries, records show – NBC5 (Chicago)

According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, 89,752 fraudulent transactions involving SNAP benefits were reported across Illinois in 2024. More than $15 million was lost to thieves.

ANd that is why people paying with SNAP should have to present ID other than their credit card when making a purchase.

When there were food stamps they were sold for 25 cents on the dollar. It wouldn’t surprise me if the same is happening now. Just selling card rights

I guess it’s too much to ask for recipients to change their PIN numbers and put a freeze on out of state transactions upon free money. That would impede the rampant selling off the money on the card for .50 cents on the dollar. But go ahead and have a good cry about welfare reform and kicking illegals off of Medicade/ Medicare, Dems.
