Ald. Anthony Beale and Ald. Gilbert Villegas have introduced ordinances to legalize video gambling in the city. The report said that Beale wants video gambling citywide, allowing machines in bars and restaurants. Villegas focused on the airports, authorizing machines after security checkpoints at O'Hare and Midway.
I’ve said this for years now, but Legalized Prostitution is on the way.
Liberal Democrats will say that it’s a “small business”, will “empower minority women” and will bring Tourism (just like Abortion Tourism) to Illinois. The Libs will also say, “Hey, Nevada has it already”.
We already have Legal Pot & Gambling, so this is the obvious next shoe to drop.
It would generate a Whole New Bureaucracy of State Employees with the Licensing, Heath, etc. requirements that would come with it, and Libs can tax it just like Pot & gaming.

There are some suburbs where every bar in town and almost every restaurant has video gambling. I have yet to see it at a chain restaurant.

Chicago and Illinois are so desperate for more tax and fee revenue to feed their mismanagement machines, it seems they’d create or expand any activity, no matter how regressive, to raise revenue. The well-being of the citizens doesn’t seem to be a high priority.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
