I spent a few months recently in Vienna, Austria. When the bus, tram or train pulls up, all the doors open. People boarding wait until those exiting are finished, then they enter. No need to scan your ticket before the driver or pass through a turnstile. The Vienna public transportation system (Wiener Linien) is one of the best in the world. Efficient, clean and safe. It’s so good, that only 25% of Vienna residents own a car. You can even bring your dog with you, except if the dog does not have a muzzle and a leash you are fined… Read more »

No more subsidies. Let them increase fares. For 30 years been watching empty Pace busses clog traffic in south suburbs. And they want to spend billions $ expanding a failing enterprise south towards Blue Island. I wish Elon would let Big Balls and his team audit RTA.
