Dozens of Texas Democratic lawmakers head to Illinois in protest against redistricting plan – CBS2 (Chicago)

Gov. JB Pritzker has arranged for roughly 30 Democratic lawmakers to stay in Illinois for the week. "It's not a Texas issue. It matters in every state in the country that we help educate the voters about what's happening, and also, importantly, stand up against this thwarting of democracy," Pritzker said.

By 3pm CST today these TX Democrat ‘representatives’ who ‘fled’ to IL will be out of a job according to the TX Gov. Pritzker will have once again beclowned himself and continues to make IL look like a radical Leftist outlier in America. Pritzker would be smart to stop acting like he’s the class president of a HS.

I’m not a fan of representatives fleeing to avoid quorum but the Texas Governor doesn’t have the authority to remove representatives from office. Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
